  • ┆*City of Leicester School of Arts and Crafts memorial and roll of honour of students who served their country in the European War, 1914-1918* [the First World War]. The roll of honour was produced by students in the Department of Printing and Book Production. It lists 177 staff and students who served in the Armed Forces, including 20 who lost their lives. Also booklet *The Arch of Remembrance: The Memorial to the men of Leicester and Leicestershire who laid down their lives in the Great War, 1914-1919*, providing background information about the war memorial in Victoria Park, Leicester, and the form and order of the unveiling ceremony. The booklet is illustrated with paintings of the Arch of Remembrance done by students of the Leicester School of Arts and Crafts.
Administrative history
  • It is worth noting that the City of Leicester School of Arts and Crafts was known as the Leicester Municipal Technical and Art School during the 1914-1918 conflict. The name was changed in 1919 to the City of Leicester School of Arts and Crafts and the City of Leicester Technical School. No roll of honour has been discovered for the Technical School.
