Administrative history
  • ┆Elizabeth Harvey was educated at the Sorbonne and Somerville College, Oxford. She was Literary Editor of the _Birmingham Post,_ and reviewed books for the _Times_ and the T_imes Literary Supplement_. Harvey held various public posts including public relations staff during the Festival of Britain in 1951. She was Chair of the Society of Women Journalists for three years in the 1960s. Harvey died in 1985, aged 82.

  • After Harvey's death in 1985 the papers were given to Mel Collier, Chief Librarian at Leicester Polytechnic Library, by Mary Stewart, Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design, who lived with Harvey.
